Burton worked for 23 years in securities sales and private wealth management. He began his tenure at FUMC Dallas in September 2007 as part of the internship program at the Perkins School of Theology. He is currently Director of Congregational Care and is involved most actively in pastoral care and teaching. Burton is married to the former Mary Elizabeth Hill of Bayview, Texas and they have four children – Hale, Liz, Mary and Katherine. Burton is an active racer of small sailboats at White Rock Lake.
