Robert E. Goodrich Fund
Dr.
Robert E. Goodrich was the distinguished pastor of First United
Methodist Church, Dallas from 1946 until he was elected Bishop
in 1972. He served in that office in the Missouri Area for 8 years.
As a part time member of the church staff, he promoted a small
endowment fund called “The Fund”, which benefited
the church. Upon his sudden death in 1985 many memorials came to “The
Fund” and its name was changed in his honor to “The
Goodrich Fund”. The corpus now stands at over $2,000,000.00,
the income of which provides an annual amount, depending on earnings,
toward the annual budget of the church. Gifts to The Goodrich Fund
are a great way to secure the future of this great church.
The Goodrich
Fund is a permanent fund, which is invested to further the
churches ministries. The donors, often in consultation with their
estate planers or the church, decide on how he or she wishes to
designate a legacy for the future, and thus provide a permanent
resource that will allow for the continued ministries of First
Church in the heart of downtown Dallas. The mission of The Goodrich Fund is
to provide our church family the opportunity to create legacies
through charitable gifts that provide long term financial support
and a living memorial. Your gift will be perpetual.
