In addition to corporate study, First Church encourages personal Bible study and the development of the spiritual disciplines. The following web resources are provided as you seek to grow closer to God in through these practices.

FirstChurch Daily Devotionals - FirstChurch offers these daily devotionals to those who desire to begin or end their day with scripture and an inspirational message followed by a time of meditation and prayer. We find that such a time each day recharges our spiritual batteries for life's journey. We hope you will find these useful for that purpose.
(Click here to start the devotionals.)

FirstChurch Daily Bible Study - A web based Bible study put together by the staff of First United Methodist Church of Dallas. Each lesson in this series is composed of three parts. The first is a scripture reading and several questions with instant feedback to make sure you understood the basic facts of the passage. The second contains a commentary on the background and meaning of the passage. The third is a guided contemplative exercise to help you apply the scripture in your life. The lessons are designed to be studied one each day. The registration systems enables you to track your progress through each study. When you have completed a study you will be able to print out a certificate of completion. (Click here to start your study.)
