FIRST
THE WORD
Dallas is home to several nationally and internationally recognized
experts in the fields of Biblical studies, theology, church history,
ethics, and other religious academic disciplines. First Church
makes this resource available by hosting “First the Word” seminars
twice a year. Participants in the seminars have the opportunity
to hear the best and latest scholarship in the field and to ask

JOURNALING WORKSHOP
This self-development workshop helps individuals build a non-judgmental
perspective on the varied aspects of their lives through a sustained
quiet, private atmosphere and specific exercises designed to
spark an inner journey where spiritual awareness is often found.

MEET THE METHODISTS
This two-part course addresses the history, doctrine, and organization
of the United Methodist Church. During the first session, we’ll
discuss Methodism’s place in the history of the Church,
as well as the unique perspective of John Wesley, the founder
of the Methodist movement. During the second session we’ll
discuss the organization and decision-making processes of our
denomination. You are welcome to attend one or both sessions.
