FUMC has maintained a
tradition of excellence in music and the arts
for over seventy-five years. As we begin the twenty-first century,
we continue that tradition with a dynamic program of Christian music,
theatre, dance and original art.
Located in the Arts District of downtown
Dallas, FUMC offers choir programs for all ages, handbell choirs
and a dramatic performance series featuring local acting talent
in popular plays and musicals. In addition, the church is the site
of The Goodrich Gallery that features new showings from local and
regional artists monthly.
We invite you to join us as we seek to
serve God and God's people with excellence in Music and the Arts.
First Church offers a wide variety of opportunities to utilize
your God-given gift of musical or artistic talents. For more
information regarding any music and arts program, please explore

The sixty-nine member tour to Italy, made up of members of the Chancel Choir, spouses and friends, visited Italy for 10 days (June 19 – 29). Under the auspices of Tour Resource Consultants, the choir visited Spoleto, Assisi, Florence, Montecatini Terme, Lucca, and Rome. Sightseeing included the 11th century Duomo and Piazza Marcata (Spoleto), Basilica of St. Francis (Assisi), Galleria Accademia, which houses Michelangelo’s David (Florence), and the Vatican and St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. The choir gave a concert at Basilica di San Benedetto in Norcia, sang with the Florence Camerata Orchestra in a citywide celebration of St. John’s Day, performed in a joint concert with the Puccini Choir at Camigliano and sang for the worship service at the Church of Santa Susanna in Rome.
