First Church has many ongoing children’s programs including
a graded choir program for children Kindergarten through Sixth
Grade, and two handbell choirs for children in 4th - 6th Grades.

Elijah! Children's Musical |
Singing Choirs:
Counterpoint Choir (Grades 4 - 6)
Older elementary children join together to make music in this choir. They sing at least once per month in our Worship services with special emphasis during Advent. They are featured in the spring Children's Choir musical.

Rehearsal: Sunday, 4:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Location: Choir Room (2nd floor of the Crossroads Building)
Cantate Choir (Grades 2 & 3)
Children in Grades 2 & 3 participate in this choir. They sing frequently for Worship and are included in the spring Children's Choir Musical.
Director: Kathy Mallick

Rehearsal: Sunday, 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Location: Patio Room
Carol Choir (Grades K&1)
Children in Kindergarten and First Grade participate in this choir. They sing on Children’s Sunday at Christmas and Palm Sunday. They also open the Children’s Choir Musical program in the spring.

Orff Class |
Orff Class (Grades 2 & 3)
Children in grades 2 & 3 experience a fun way to learn, grow and develop musically! The children will use xylophones, metalophones, glockenspiels, drums, triangles, finger cymbals and other percussion instruments as they weave their creative ideas into real music.

Handbell Choirs
First Church offers two handbell choirs for older elementary children. These choirs rehearse weekly and ring for worship several times each year. Many of the children continue to ring handbells in our junior high and senior high school bell choirs.
