Jim Finger was born in San Antonio, Texas. As the son of military parents, he traveled extensively. At the age of 16, he studied art in Augsburg, Germany under Master Painter, William Prager.

In 1965 Jim left San Antonio and moved to Los Angeles where he became involved in the motion picture and television industry as a scenic artist. He worked at Warner Bros., CBS Television Studios, Universal Studios, Columbia Pictures, and MGM.

His work includes a myriad of theatrical, motion picture, and television productions. For over fourteen years, Jim worked with many of the top movie and television studios in Los Angeles, California. He worked on numerous movie productions that included “Camelot”, “Cool Hand Luke”, “Bonnie and Clyde”, “Wait Until Dark”, “Funny Lady”, “Smokey and the Bandit”, “The Shootist” and many others. In the television studios, he worked on the “Red Skelton Show”, “The Carol Burnett Show”, the “Glen Campbell Show” and others.

Jim has designed and executed scenery for “The Nutcracker” for various ballet companies around the country including Washington, DC; Austin, Texas; Corpus Christi, Texas; and Jackson, Mississippi.
Jim’s favorite project was painting the many beautiful murals still seen today in the Adolphus Hotel in Dallas, Texas.
